Belfast is Kenneth Branagh's deeply personal semi-autobiographical film about a young boy named Buddy growing up in late-1960s Belfast during the outbreak of The Troubles. Shot in gorgeous black and white and featuring an extraordinary performance from newcomer Jude Hill, the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and received 7 total Oscar nominations.
